Sept. 18, 2007 — Top 10 for the week beginning Sept. 17

Yesterday’s Game of the Day:
Burke Lake Braddock (Va.) 2, Fairfax W.T. Woodson (Va.) 1 (2 OT)

Today’s Game of the Day
Oak Park/River Forest (Ill.) at Lake Forest (Ill.)
The state’s annual derby match, these two teams are the only ones to have won the Illinois state title since 1998. The retirement of Barb Liles adds a new chapter to the rivalry. The Scouts are 7-1-2; Oak Park was 3-1-3 heading into last week. The teams played Sept. 5, with Lake winning 2-1, and this rematch should be just as close.

This week’s Top 10 reflects some difficult matches this past week, including Sunday’s thrilling 3-2 win by No. 1 Wyoming Seminary over Mount St. Joseph’s Academy. The matches upcoming this week will be even better, climaxing in a showdown in Hummelstown, Pa. this Saturday morning as Lehighton (Pa.) meets Lower Dauphin. It’s a rare treat: two teams coached by former members of Team USA will be meeting in the semifinals of the Falcon Classic.

Our RightToRightIsRight.com No. 11 Team of the Week is Hull (Mass.), whose 1-0 win over Pembroke (Mass.) is the team’s first win since the 2003 season.
