Oct. 23, 2015 — Friday Statwatch for games played through Oct. 21

Hi, gang. We’re back with Statwatch, our weekly look into the numbers that help define the sport of field hockey across regions, across time zones, and across time itself.

This week, the most statistically significant event was Watertown (Mass.) breaking the all-time unbeaten streak of 153 matches. It also brought the Raiders to within a dozen games of tying the all-time winning streak. But one thing it also did was to bring head coach Eileen Donahue to within 10 wins of 600 for her career. She’s sure to get that lofty mark early next season; at most, Watertown has about seven matches left in the season.

The list of numbers below reflects games through the end of play on Wednesday, which means that it is entirely possible you might see something different in the column to the right, since Daily Statwatch is updated in, more or less, real time. I encourage coaches, athletic directors, and student managers to register for and use the MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams as well as perhaps your conference, confederation, or your state governing body to enter field hockey information there, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.

Here’s what we’ve compiled thus far, thanks to, amongst others, MaxPreps.com, Advance Media, The Harrisburg Patriot-News, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, MassLive.com, The Washington Post, The Reading Eagle, Newsday, and The Ann Arbor News:
