Nov. 6, 2015 — Friday Statwatch for games played through Nov. 4

As you’ve no doubt noticed, a number of things have happened in Daily Statwatch the last few days, especially when it comes to single-season and career scoring marks. Thus far, five players have exceeded 50 goals this season, and there are plenty of others within striking distance of 50 with three weeks to go in the domestic season.

But what is equally amazing is the extension of this site’s unofficial 30-30 Club — players who have had more than 30 goals and more than 30 assists in the same season. Three more entries have come into the list this year, which is about average since since 2009.

Here’s what we have compiled, thus far, from NFHS and other records garnered throughout the years as of the end of play Wednesday:

Yep, three repeats from last year’s 30-30 club are right back in it, and from three of the best teams in the United States. We have a couple of others closing in. Junior Emily Surgent plays for Wall (N.J.) Township, and freshman Mackenzie Allessie of Mount Joy Donegal (Pa.) needs just four more assists to become the first ninth-grader to have a 30-30 season since Schleicher in 2012.

Below, you will see statistics reflecting games through the end of play on Wednesday. This means that it is entirely possible you might see something different in the column to the right, since Daily Statwatch  is updated in, more or less, real time. I encourage coaches, athletic directors, and student managers to register for and use the platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams as well as perhaps your conference, confederation, or your state governing body to enter field hockey information there, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
