Nov. 13, 2015 — Friday Statwatch for games played through Nov. 11

Hi, all, and welcome to Friday Statwatch, our weekly breakdown of the numbers that define scholastic field hockey in America.

This week, we’re counting down to the end of the season in some places, and with that, the climax to some truly remarkable performances. Through the end of play Wednesday, seven players have reached the 50-goal mark, a remarkable achievement. Three more are within a goal or two of that plateau.  which would be unprecedented in the history of the game in this country.

Below are statistics reflecting games through the end of play on Wednesday. This means that it is entirely possible you might see something different in the column to the right, since Daily Statwatch gets updated in more or less real time. I encourage readers to contact their coaches, athletic directors, and student managers so that they may register for and use the MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams as well as perhaps your conference, league, or your state governing body to enter field hockey information there, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.

Here’s what we’ve compiled thus far, thanks to, amongst others, MaxPreps.com, Advance Media, The Harrisburg Patriot-News, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, MassLive.com, The Washington Post, The Reading Eagle, Newsday, PhilaFieldHockey.com, and The Ann Arbor News:
