Serving the scholastic field hockey and lacrosse community since 1998

BULLETIN: April 8, 2016 — After a week of stops and starts, Jenkins stands at the top

This afternoon, a week after the Alexandria St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (Va.) girls’ lacrosse team gave head coach Kathy Jenkins her 700th coaching victory, the 701st came in an 18-6 win over visiting Walton (Ga.).

The 701 wins are believed to be an all-time best in the 90 years scholastic field hockey has been conducted; the National Federation does not have a category for coaching wins in its record book.

Today’s milestone was delayed twice. One because of a Saint loss to Olney Good Counsel (Md.) in the nightcap of last Saturday’s Spring Fling, but the second delay took place Thursday as a game with McLean Potomac School (Md.) was suspended in the first half due to weather.

The Saints take to the pitch again at noon Saturday at Kensington Academy of the Holy Cross (Md.), weather permitting.
