May 3, 2016 — Top 10 for the week of May 1

Last week provided a number of games within the Top 10 featuring Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) winning at Marriottsville Marriotts Ridge (Md.), Garden City (N.Y.) beating Manhasset (N.Y.), and a 10-all draw between Manhasset and Darien (Conn.). As the regular season draws to a close in both New York and Maryland, expect more changes because of playoff results.

1. Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) 18-0

This is how dominating the Eagles have been this season: heading into this week, only two teams on their schedule have lost by five goals or fewer, and that includes last Saturday’s match at Marriottsville Marriotts Ridge (Md.)

2. Garden City (N.Y.) 11-1

Trojans beat previously unbeaten Manhasset (N.Y.) last Saturday; this week sees showdowns against South Huntington St. Anthony (N.Y.) and Wantagh (N.Y.)

3. Syracuse Christian Brothers Academy (N.Y.) 8-0

Have exceeded 20 goals five times this season; undefeated Fulton (N.Y.) awaits this Thursday

5T. Darien (Conn.) 7-1-1

5T. Manhasset (N.Y.) 9-1-1

The Indians tied Darien (Conn.) 10-10 and lost 9-8 to Garden City (N.Y.) on Saturday

7. Marriottsville Marriotts Ridge (Md.) 11-1

Mustangs gave a good showing against McDonogh, considering the early start to account for the school prom; Glenelg (Md.) and Ellicott City Mount Hebron (Md.) await this week

8. Olney Good Counsel (Md.) 16-2

The Falcons dropped their early-week game against McDonogh but rebounded to defeat Moorestown (N.J.) 11-9
