June 17, 2016 — Friday Statwatch for games played through June 15

With only three states left to finish competition for the 2016 domestic season, your national statistical leaders are coming into focus. Despite a game effort from Nora Bowen, the Virginia-bound senior from Purcelville Woodgrove (Va.), it would appear as though your national goal-scoring titlist will be junior Bridget Ruskey of Cape May Court House Middle Township (N.J.).

Also making a good push late in the season is Monica Borzillo, the Cincinnati-bound attacker from Tredyffrin Conestoga (Pa.), who now leads the country with 109 assists. Indeed, she had a dream match in the PIAA final last weekend with four goals and eight assists in a 17-8 win over Radnor (Pa.).

Friday Statwatch reflects games through the end of play the previous Wednesday. If you are a coach or team manager, I encourage you to subscribe to, and enter information in, the easy-to-use MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams in your league or state high school association to enter their information there as well. We’re aiming to have as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.

Here’s what we’ve compiled thus far, thanks to, amongst other sources, MaxPreps.com, Advance Media, The Harrisburg Patriot-News, The Providence Journal, The Albany Times-Union, Long Island Newsday, The Worcester Telegram, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, MassLive.com, the Denver Post, and The Washington Post:
