June 29, 2016 — Your national scoring champion

Lacrosse is one of those sports where a good passing and shooting combination can be made through hard work and dedication.

Bridget Ruskey, the junior attacker for Cape May Courthouse Middle Township (N.J.), will tell you that she could not have done what she did this season without teammate Allison Hunter, who had 105 assists this season.

Ruskey, with 135 goals this spring, is your national scoring champion for 2016.

Lacrosse isn’t Ruskey’s only game. She is a midfielder in soccer and plays a good game of basketball. In all three sports, she led Middle Township to Cape-Atlantic League championships.

During this past school year, Middle Township’s lacrosse team went the furthest, advancing through the NJSIAA Group I South tournament, dropping a 19-16 semifinal match to Martinsville Pingry School (N.J.) in the quarterfinals.

Ruskey, Hunter, and fellow juniors Jenna Herlihy and Skylar Gentillini form a sort of “golden generation” at Middle Township High School, a school located in the middle of the Cape May Peninsula at the extreme tip of southern New Jersey.

Bridget Ruskey joins a number of national scoring leaders from past years:
