Oct. 10, 2017 — Top 10 for the week of Oct. 8

Well, we have had one small change to our Top 10 after last weekend’s showdown between Lakeland and Mamaroneck, one which saw the visitors take an early lead but Lakeland’s skill was a bit too much for the Tigers.

Still, there’s more to come, especially a week from today when No. 2 West Essex takes on co-No. 7 Oak Knoll in what could be a Tournament of Champions preview.

Our honorary No. 11 team of the week is Stonehill College, which is located due south of Boston and due east of Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Stonehill has never made it to an NCAA Division II final, but could be a contender this year, heading into today’s match against Franklin Pierce with a seven-game winning streak.
