Serving the scholastic field hockey and lacrosse community since 1998

Oct. 14, 2017 — The 200-goal club has a new member

The decade of the 2010s has seen a complete rewrite of the offensive record books in American scholastic field hockey.

The latest chapters have been authored this week, as junior Mackenzie Allessie of Mount Joy Donegal (Pa.) became the third member of the 200-goal, 100-assist club. She got her 100th assist earlier this week against Denver Cocalico (Pa.), then got her 200th goal today against Lititz Warwick (Pa.), joining only three other players to score that many — Austyn Cuneo, Meredith Sholder, and Haley Schleicher.

The skilled, speedy central midfielder still has work to do in order to get her team back to the PIAA Class AA title match. And that starts Tuesday in the semifinal round of the Lancaster-Lebanon League postseason tournament against none other than Millersville Penn Manor (Pa.).

The two sides have met in the LLL tourney just about ever year, and the games have always come down to the last few minutes, or to overtime. Given the talent on both teams, it should be no different when the teams meet at Warwick at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
