Serving the scholastic field hockey and lacrosse community since 1998

Jan. 4, 2018 — The obvious answer

Today, a prominent national lacrosse publication issued a reader poll for the preseason player of the 2018 season.

Of course, there’s a lot of conjecture in these kinds of preseason awards, seeing as the teams are a month from starting play (weather permitting, of course).

But the publication left off one name, one transformative figure, one force of nature. And that player is Boston College senior Kenzie Kent. One year ago, she willed the Eagles to their first appearance in the national title match and, beyond all expectations, were within a couple of late possessions away from upsetting the University of Maryland.

Kent, for the record, has five goals and nine assists for the Eagles’ icewomen, who are ranked second in the country.
