Serving the scholastic field hockey and lacrosse community since 1998

April 13, 2018 — Friday Statwatch for games played through April 11

Hi, and welcome back to Friday Statwatch, which is our run-through of girls’ lacrosse statistics from throughout the nation.

The top stat that jumps out at you, of course, is the winning streak of Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.). As far as can be determined, it’s the largest win streak of all time in a field-invasion sport such as soccer, lacrosse, football, hockey, and field hockey. Most of the top streaks in National Federation history have been in gymnastics, wrestling, swimming and tennis, which involve individual efforts leading to a team score.

Below is a compilation of girls’ lacrosse statistics from various sources including MaxPreps.com, NJ Advance Media, The Harrisburg Patriot-News, The Providence Journal, The Albany Times-Union, Long Island Newsday, The Worcester Telegram, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, MassLive.com, the Denver Post, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, MSG Varsity, the Ann-Arbor News, and The Washington Post.

And, to make this list better in the future, I encouraging you to convince your team, your school, league, or state governing body to adopt the easy-to-use MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams to enter their information there as well as whichever is your local news site, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
