May 1, 2018 — Top 10 for the week of April 29

There are some minor changes in the Top 10 as ranked teams were playing each other last week, and this week also sees Alexandria St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (Va.) and Darien (Conn.) play each other. Of course, there was that matter of McDonogh-Notre Dame Prep yesterday, but those results won’t be reflected in the Top 10 until next week.

Our honorary No. 11 Team of the Week is the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse. That team: Lindenwood University. Located a few miles west of St. Louis, Lindenwood is, actually, smack in the midst of field hockey country when it comes to girls’ scholastic athletics. But that doesn’t matter to head coach Jack Cribbin, who has cobbled together a roster from places as far flung as Minnesota, Austria, Canada, and more recognizable hotbeds such as Maryland and New York. It’s a team that bears watching.

Eagles’ finished out the IAAM season yesterday and have Sykesville Century (Md.) this Thursday to finish the regular season

7. Delray American Heritage (Fla.) 20-1

Stallions take on Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) in what should be a dandy of a regional matchup
