Serving the scholastic field hockey and lacrosse community since 1998

BULLETIN: May 11, 2018 — The all-time career assists record has fallen

With an assist in the first half of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) final, sophomore Caitlyn Wurzburger of Delray American Heritage (Fla.) notched her 329th career assist, which sent her past Corinne Wessels of Manassas Osbourn Park (Va.) for the most known assist total in the history of scholastic lacrosse in the United States.

The thing is, Wurzburger has accomplished this feat in just three years — her eighth-grade varsity season, plus two seasons in the upper school. This means that her 332 total assists will not count as an official National Federation record because their recordkeeping only takes into account the last four years of high school.

Wurzburger, who is committed to Syracuse, has two more years to add to her impressive scoring and assisting totals.
