BULLETIN: April 6, 2019 — Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) 8, Manhasset (N.Y.) 7

Sometimes it takes a three-time Tewaaraton Trophy winner to get a team going in the second half of a game between perhaps the two best girls’ lacrosse teams in America.

But with Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) two goals adrift of Manhasset (N.Y.) in the last 20 minutes of play, the Eagles did what head coach Taylor Cummings would have done as a player: win draws, score timely goals, then run out the clock to win the game.

Junior Kayla Abernathy scored the game-tying and go-ahead goals from Julia Dorsey feeds, then the Eagles won the next draw and pretty much kept the ball away from Manhasset for the balance of regulation to win 8-7.

McDonogh, the No. 1 team in the TopOfTheCircle Top 10, remains undefeated on the season.
