BULLETIN: April 25, 2019 — Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) 13, Towson Notre Dame Prep (Md.) 5

It has been about 11 months since Towson Notre Dame Prep (Md.) put in the single greatest performance in its girls’ lacrosse history, breaking the 198-match win streak of Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) side in the IAAM Class “A” title match held at U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

This evening, NDP came in a wounded team, having not only lost four games this season, but getting 10-goalled by Delray American Heritage (Fla.). The Blazers, however, seemed to put it all together at the onset of the match with McDonogh, scoring the first three goals.

But the Eagles used draw controls, timely shooting, and good defense in order to score 13 out of the next 15 goals in a 13-5 win. Emma Schettig had five goals on the night and Izzy Marsh had four. Junior Kayla Abernathy was a difference-maker in the draw circle and on the attack end of the pitch.

The win cements McDonogh as the No. 1 seed in the IAAM Class A Tournament, which gets underway May 3.
