Nov. 9, 2021 — Top 10 for the week of Nov. 7

Amongst American scholastic field hockey teams, there are only a handful of non-playoff fixtures remaining. Just about every game between now and Thanksgiving will be one-and-done playoff matches. Too, a number of prominent states such as Virginia, New Jersey, and New York crown championships this week. Though this Top 10 hasn’t changed, there is certainly room for movement as the season heads towards journey’s end.

Our RightToRightIsRight.com honorary No. 11 Team of the Week is Palmerton (Pa.) Area. The Blue Bombers won the PIAA District 11 Class A final, making the state tournament for the first time in 38 years with a 3-0 win over Kintnersville Palisades (Pa.).

1. Delmar (Del.) 17-0
Delmar faces either Wilmington Concord (Del.) or Bear Caravel Academy (Del.) this Saturday in a game to be played at against Lewes Cape Henlopen (Del.)

2. Emmaus (Pa.) 24-0
After winning a 33rd straight District 11 championship last weekend, the Hornets take on Souderton (Pa.) in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA Tournament

3. Virginia Beach Frank W. Cox (Va.) 16-0
Falcons take on Suffolk Nansemond River (Va.) in a VHSL Class 5 quarterfinal this evening at the National Training Center

4. Newtown Square Episcopal Academy (Pa.) 14-1
Churchwomen await either Rosemont Agnes Irwin (Pa.) or Fort Washington Germantown Academy (Pa.) in PAISAA semifinals

5. Pottstown Hill School (Pa.) 16-1
Hill awaits either Villanova Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (Pa.) or Bryn Athyn Academy of the New Church (Pa.) in PAISAA semifinals

6. Northport (N.Y.) 19-0
Tigers dismantled Massapequa (N.Y.) 7-0 in the Long Island playoff in Class A, and will take on Clarence (N.Y.) this Saturday in the state semifinals

7. Kingston Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) 17-2
Knights meet Harrisburg Susquehanna Township (Pa.) in the PIAA Class A tournament today

8. Voorhees Eastern (N.J.) 20-2
Vikings travel to Woolwich Kingsway (N.J.) in the NJSIAA Group IV South finals; Kingsway is one of only about 10 schools to have gotten either a win or draw vs. the powerhouse in the last 22 years

9. Lower Gwynedd Gwynedd-Mercy Academy (Pa.) 17-2-1
The District 1-AA champs have Glen Rock Susquehannock (Pa.) in the first round today, but have a tough task at the weekend against either Selinsgrove (Pa.) or Palmyra (Pa.)

10. Hummelstown Lower Dauphin (Pa.) 20-0-1
Falcons start their march to the state tournament final with a first-rounder with Malvern Great Valley (Pa.) in the Class AAA bracket

11. Palmerton (Pa.) Area 9-8-1
Anna Recker had the hat trick for the Bombers, who play today against Oley (Pa.) Valley
