Sept. 2, 2022 — Preseason Statwatch for 2022

Hi, all. We’re back with Statwatch, our feature which attempts to tie together the past and the present when it comes to the game of field hockey. It’s a feature which has gotten an amazing amount of attention because of the excellence of record-breakers like Lexi Smith, Austyn Cuneo, Haley Schleicher, Mackenzie Allessie, Ryleigh Heck, and many, many others.

We’ll be going weekly with Statwatch once everyone gets about a week under their belts, which will normally be around the middle of September.

In the red type below is a panoply of American scholastic field hockey statistics, culled from, amongst other sources, MaxPreps, Berks Game Day, the KHSAA, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Advance Media. Note that these statistics are from the end of last season, which means that anything added to it from mid-August (the start of the domestic season) won’t show up here.

We would like to get as many coaches and other field hockey people to register for the platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams as well as perhaps your conference, league, or your state governing body to enter field hockey information there, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
