April 9, 2024 — Top 10 for the week of April 7

It’s all set up for a pair of enormous matches on Saturday, as No. 1 New Canaan takes on No. 2 St. Anthony’s in South Huntington, N.Y., and Owings Mills McDonogh (Md.) meets up with Darien (Conn.) in Hillsborough, N.J. It’s the biggest weekend (thus far) of the 2024 girls’ scholastic lacrosse season. Well, at least until the Gains for Brains Showcase in a few weeks.

1. New Canaan (Conn.) 1-0
The Rams posted a win over Westhampton (N.Y.) Beach, having postponed what could have been a telling opener with Rye (N.Y.). Team takes on South Huntington St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) on Saturday
2. South Huntington St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) 4-0
The Friars got a big road win at Victor (N.Y.) last week, but a showdown with against No. 1 New Canaan lurks on April 13th
3. Darien (Conn.) 1-0
The Wave survived an early fusillade against Brooklandville St. Paul’s (Md.), but they calmly pulled back ahead by the end of the third quarter and won by two

Trojans beat Port Washington (N.Y.) 13-4 last week
7. Bethesda Stone Ridge (Md.) 7-2
Stone Ridge fell to Good Counsel 15-12 at Spring Fling, but also beat Chantilly Paul IV (Va.) at the same tournament
