Feb. 18, 2022 — Preseason Statwatch for 2022

Hi, all. Given the paucity of games nationwide over the last two years, it shouldn’t be unusual to see that the Preseason Statwatch for this spring is a little thin.

However, this does give us a chance to expound on what’s already here. First off, Fran Frieri is back for another season, after setting a record for the most goals scored last year with 191. If she has a season like she had a year ago, she could become only the fifth scholastic lacrosse player ever to have 500 goals in a career.

In addition, Kathy Jenkins will begin her 46th season as head coach of Alexandria St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (Va.), with more than 800 wins to her credit. Every time out will be a chance for her to extend her own record.

I encourage you to keep convincing your teams, your schools, leagues, or state governing bodies to adopt the easy-to-use MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams to enter their information there as well as whichever is your local news site, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
